groWing of SMEs: organizational Innovation and Development in mEd area (WIDE)

WIDE project aims at strengthening Micro/SMEs innovation capacities, through strategic cooperation between MED public and private actors to deal with Euro-Mediterranean development process.Main concrete actions:definition of PPP solutions to improve coordination of MED innovation key-actors implementation of customized paths to boost MSMEs organizational innovation Joint strategies between public and private actors to catch Mediterranean market opportunities in coherence with UfM 6th priority Achievements: State of the art of project implementation since the project startWIDE was launched on 30 Sept 2010, involving 8 organizations (public bodies and third parties) from 4 MED countries (Italy,Greece,Spain,France) that assessed the state-of-the-art and the economic outlook of MSMEs in their region,identifying weaknesses,strengths and needs of their enterprises.This deep analysis was run on statistics and online questionnaires filled in by entrepreneurs.WIDE selected and in now training them through customized paths to innovate their organization and provide knowledge, tools and processes needed to access new markets.These enterprises participated to the Innovation ForuMed in Civitanova Marche (23-24 Febr 2012) and Thessaloniki (18-19 Oct 2012), where networking sessions were organized to explore new commercial chances.WIDE analyzed also MED possible sectors/countries to be used by MSMEs to catch business opportunities.The project was presented to key stakeholders during capitalization workshops to raise the awareness about its objectives and results.Latest project activities and outputsDuring this period WIDE consortium made substantial steps in the achievements of project goals. The customized paths were implemented in the 40 selected MSMEs that participated and had networking sessions during the 2nd Innovation ForuMed that took place in Thessaloniki (18-19 Oct 2012). WIDE have been producing some important technical documents to support the enterprises in the MED area: a cross analysis concerning their criticalities and needs, the draft of customized productive/commercial development plans to sustain the emergence of innovative management, an analysis about possible sectors/countries in the MED area to be used by MSMEs to catch business opportunities. Thousands of key stakeholders across the 4 WIDE countries were informed about project outcomes at significant local/national/EU events. WIDE partners organized several capitalization workshops to transfer project results and recommendations and launched in their countries dedicated awareness campaigns.Next key steps for the projectPh2.2:organization of final event on 16-17/05/2013 in Toulon(last JSC).MSMEs will be involved for networking opportunities Ph3.4/4.4/5.4:organization of remaining capitalization workshops Ph4.2/4.3:finalization of planned OICP,as well as drafting of OICP reports according to the common template Ph4.4:realization of Compendium Book Ph.5.2:realization of a final report with the description of alliances and agreement developed during B2B Ph5.3:finalization of 4 local Awareness Raising Campaigns
