Grow conscious and feel your body
Start date: May 11, 2015,
End date: Jun 10, 2016
The project arises from the need to cope with the increasingly widespread phenomenon of youth unemployment.
Learning to listen to one's feelings and to one's body is a way to understand one's needs and to grow as an independent person. Self-awareness becomes a means to develop and behave as adults, able to make appropriate choices in a daily changing world.
Body activities, bioenergetics, experiential discovery of emotions, and meditation will be the methods used to accompany young people in discovering, accepting and loving themselves. By increasing their self-esteem and their confidence in their own abilities they will gain a greater openess to others, to diversity and interculturalism.
The project, subdivided in many stages during the year, directly involves more than 100 European young people, aged between 14 and 18 (some of them "fewer opportunities"), and 9 European organizations.
Learning to love and accept oneself enables one to love and accept others more easily, no matter where they are from.
It promotes openess to intercultural environments, friendship and cooperation, but it also makes much easier communication among individuals and groups.
The work is entirely developed according to the non-formal education and experiential methods described above. It will end with the groups sharing their own experiences, thus integrating and remembering them more easily.
