The project addressed a significant gap in specialist horticulture training required to build and maintain Green Roofs. The project team worked with occupational skills councils and have developed occupational standards for Green Roofs this has enabled the development of EU L3/4 vocational qualifications for technicians (those who will install and maintain green roofs)and supervisors (those who train the technicians and ensure good quality assurance of projects). Therefore the project is supporting the supply side of what is a relatively new European industry.
