Green and Young at Heart
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Oct 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

2015 is the European Year for Development. It is also the year when France will host the United Nations Conference against climate change. The youth are a key player in challenging our environmental culture and development practices. Convinced that peer education is a remarkable way to reclaim the need for sustainable development, our association wants to strengthen our network of "young eco-messengers" via this European exchange. Its aim is to discuss methods, exchange best practices between young Europeans and eventually allow the creation of a European network. “Eco-messengers" are not "experts" but young people willing to find ways to combat climate change in their neighborhood, association, town hall youth council, school ... This youth exchange will enable participants to develop a more comprehensive view of their experience, discovering other messengers’ eco-practices, exchanging new tools of mobilization and reflection. This project is trying to answer the need to create a link between local and global levels in environmental education. It should, therefore, strengthen the participants’ European citizenship; consolidate their commitment and understanding of environmental issues and sustainable development; emphasize youth participation. We’re hoping for this youth exchange to happen in the summer of 2015 and with a follow-up at the end of november/early december along the COY/COP 21.
