Search for European Projects

GOULAINE
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

For 12 years the College of Goulaine took part into the Comenius program for pedagogic researches as much as languages teaching. Enriched by this experience, proposing the English Europ option in our college came naturally. But recently, to keep this option, the local education office told us to adapt ourselves, and tou develop a Non Linguistic Subject (DNL in french) in physical education. A physical education teacher volunteered, but before that she needed to get The English examination to teach DNL. At the same time, a training session called "Mobilangues" was proposed by le local education office this year, and information was done abaout "Erasmus+". This convinced us that it was necessary to complete our plan of action ; we needed tou renew with European mobility projects. All the college's staff has been informed of those possibilities for us, consequently a European training plan has been joined with the application form. Three people took part in this plan. - a physical education teacher to complete her DNL training (London in November, 2015), - a mathematics teacher for a language training (London in April 2016), - the headmaster for a linguistic training (Dublin in November 2015). The organization on different places, and at different moments, allowed us to get in different international groups and start our work of exchanges with differents networks of contacts. The secondary school reform and the experiences we had during these trainings have modified our projects because from now on options and therefore the Euro class cannot be organized any longer. As a matter of fact the Non Linguistic Subject will be used not for students selected according to their skills in English but for any students, whatever their levels, through Interdisciplinary Practical Teachings (EPI in French). The mathematics teacher, highly involved in innovative projects, has registered with the Non Linguistic Subject academic training in order to widen the offer for the students. Our ambition, in relation to our school project, still is to offer real European prospects to our pupils. The good command of the English language mustn't be a purpose but a tool, for the adults in their pedagogic researches, as much as the pupils in their lezrning for the physical and virtual mobility (e-twinning).
