Gokotta job shadowing
Start date: May 4, 2015, End date: Nov 3, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Gokotta job shadowing" was a job shadowing project for youth workers Tadeja Perpar and Sonja Vodenik from Padma Institute for 11 days to job shadow Sanjay Gadhvi and Sanjay Tanna from The Lotus Trust. The job shadowing took place in October 2015 in UK. Institut Padma (Slovenia) and the Lotus Trust (UK) are both non profit organisations, have mainly young volunteers and have experience with organising education of youth. Their aim was to professionalise their youth working skills and to increase their motivation for activities in youth working areas. All participants improved individual key competences and skills connected with areas of education, healthy lifestyles and self-development, which will now be implemented in helping the youth workers to outreach their target groups more effectively and we have also extended the cooperation in area of Intergenerational cooperation and wisdom exchange. Aditionally we have exchanged the system of recognition of non formal education that is in use in Slovenia http://www.nefiks.si/ and we are looking into practical application of using this online system for The Lotus Trust and Padma. Youth work recognition was increased both on regional level by introducing the European certificates (Youthpass, Europass CV, Europass mobility document, Netflix) in our mentoring work in Slovenia and also presenting it to Youth groups and Gratitude and Socio project. Job shadowing activities took place in London at the office of the Lotus Trust where the 2 Slovenian youth workers were learning about good practices with youth, shadowed British youth workers in action and shared their experience. During these 11 days of job shadowing participants were part of interactive seminars and workshops on self-development techniques and healthy relationships, learning about mentorship system of The Lotus Trust, open-air activity day, learning on organic/eco-friendly nutrition and there were also daily planning and evaluation sessions. We did Open Space sessions with discussions, brainstorming and research the new possibilities. After the job shadowing activity, the youth workers of both organisations presented their experiences through dissemination events in Ljubljana and Radlett to the members of their organisation on regular meetings with youth and inter-generational workshops (Gratitude UK and Socio SI). Also events in Celje, Slovenia were prepared for local youth club there by Sonja Vodenik. As one of the results of project both organisations are now preparing new projects for funding at Erasmus+ program in 2016. We are looking into Key Action 3 projects and also EVS later in 2016.
