INSIGNARE is a non-profit association which owns two EU level IV VET schools: Ourém Professional School and Fátima Hospitality School. As additional areas, simultaneously internal and external, it has GIP - Office of Professional Insertion (local employment service working under contract with Public Employment Service); CQEP - Center for Education and Professional Qualification (local/regional service for vocational/professional guidance, referral training and competences validation, working under protocol with ANQEP – Public VET Service); Centre for Continuing Education (aimed at companies and adults wishing to obtain and/or supplement their training with short and medium term courses, EU-funded or self-financing). Internally organizes itself with important departments for this application: the International Cooperation one; the Communication and Image one; the Student and Family Support Unit and the Administrative and Financial one. The internationalization of its activity was strategically considered, being short duration mobilities of its teachers and staff one of those pillars. This project operationalizes this goal by applying 40 participants to six training courses suited to the needs and with obvious impact. The common competencies are : • To acquire, develop and implement pedagogical / technical and language skills ; • To contact with new educational and cultural realities ; • To understand, evaluate and pedagogically adapt to national context new working methodologies; The courses and its summarized objectives are: For Teachers "Classroom Management" • To develop practical lessons; • To know what to do when rules are broken: problem solving and conflict management; "Bringing Creativity & Thinking Skills Into the Educational Process" • To implement practical tools for the development of creativity and thinking skills across the curriculum; "Use of ICT in New Vocational Education" • To learn how to use the ICT tools in their lessons on purpose; • To adjust the traditional teaching methods using modern technological tools; For Personal pedagogical support "Fit At Work - Career guidance and counseling in school" • To compare the peculiarities of the German school system with the European context; • To understand the point of view of schools and enterprises in relation to vocational guidance. What are the objectives of school? What do the companies look for? To support staff in back office functions "Introduction to EU Funding: Grants and Tenders" • To become familiar with the types of financing provided by the EU; • To learn how EU funds are managed; "European Law - Public Tenders and Public Calls" • Improve, extend and update their knowledge and understanding of EU competition law; • To obtain cutting-edge advice and insights on crucial legal incidents. What it does with this application in future terms for the organization is : a) To ensure its sustainability, excellence and updating of taught content, technical quality and pedagogical quality of teachers / support staff ; b) To make clear to students that they can find social and professional support services that mitigate / solve their problems in these areas, in addition to dynamic and technically competent teaching; c) To develop the potential of employees through continuous learning; d) To share responsibility in enhancing overall VET quality between the organization and its workers; e) Strengthening European cooperation with other institutions; f) Strengthen our image towards local and regional public and private stakeholders . The expected impacts are: Teachers - 95 % of teachers will provide clear indications of learned skills in 2015/2016; - 15% reduction on disciplinary cases in 2015/2016 and 10 % in 2016/2017. Staff - 10% increase in the number of students’ educational interventions in 2015/2016. Staff in back office functions - 10% reduction on the number of complaints at public calls in 2015/2016; - 10 % increase in the number of applications proposals to Erasmus+ in 2015/2016 and start applying to other programs in 2016. Institutional At this level, we anticipate positive impacts in three dimensions : - Internationalization - allow the submission of further projects in other typologies of Erasmus + (plus 10 % ) and other European Programmes; - Differentiation - be the only educational organization in the county that provides teachers and staff training and technical update outside Portugal, using these facts to attract students and to communicate with their parents; - Social support - attending the courses will be a key element in fighting early school leaving in the two schools, estimating a 5% reduction in 2015/2016.
