For 2015 the exchange had its focus on Social Inclsuion and Equality of Opportunities for Youth. Our objectives were : 1) to discuss the concept of social inclusion based on the Treaty of Amsterdam (1997), PNA Portugal and the latest EU publications about it; 2) to educate participants about the causes of social exclusion; 3) to reflect on the racial and gender equality. To achieve these objectives activites based on non-formal education such as workshops, round tables, cultural visits, group dynamics and group reflexions are made. Activities were done at Complexo Desportivo Stella Maris, in Peniche, a beach city far 80km from Lisbon. The project involved 6 partners from Portugal, Spain, France, Estonia, Slovenia and Croatia, We had 42 participants, from wihch half of them are considered with fewer oportunities due to their imigrant backgroung, level of education and economical situation.
As a final product we produced a docummentary and a 2016 calendar with photos that were taken by participants and which registered the intercultural learning proccess adopted for the project and the learning outcomes identified by the participants theirselves. In a long perspective, Gingando para Cidadania 2015 intends to introduce social exclusion and equality of oportunities among refugees and immigrant community as themes to be discussed by youngsters.
