Get Healthy!Get Natural!
Start date: Jun 15, 2015, End date: Dec 14, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Get healthy! Get natural! The project is aimed at improving youth lifestyle in regards to food habits and physical activities. Nowadays, young people find it accessible to eat unhealthy food, fast-food or supermarket food. They also are prone to get less and less involved in sports and other physical activities, as they are more attracted towards new technologies and other type of activities that are sedentary and bring no benefit to their health. . Our project aims at responding at this challenge of unhealthy lifestyle habits, by involving a group of 48 young people, from 6 different countries for a period of 7 days in different types of activities. The main objective of the project is to make young people aware of the risks of unhealthy lifestyles and to make them change their habits to their own benefits. We aim at informing them about the benefits of sports, physical movement and healthy diets. We also aim at making young people understand how healthy food is produced, why supermarket food and fast-food can be dangerous for our health and how to make physical activities interactive and attractive. In terms of activities, we organized awareness rising activities, but also practical activities. We went to supermarkets and analyzed each label on the products we found relevant, we checked the content of additives and other unhealthy substances. We explored the world of small farmers, we listened to their stories and took part in their daily activities. We discovered new ways of eating natural at accessible costs in the age of speed. In addition participants took part in sports activities. The methodology used was based on non-formal education tools, with inclusive components that made young people actively engage in all activities. The major impact of the project was a new perspective on healthy lifestyle that will be applied by participants in their daily lives. Young people will benefit from this project in terms of information they acquired about healthy lifestyle.
