CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVESThe general plan of the project “Get equal empowerment for LGBT activism” is to raise the competences of staff and active volunteers of Arcigay through professional after education courses.Professional after education brings the most value to the organisation and participants, because it is connected to the strategy and the new competences can be put into play in the organisation. The courses are tailor-made to the challenges and strategy of the organisation. This is ensured by working with similar LGBT organisations.PARTICIPANTS AND ACTIVITIESActive volunteers and staff from Arcigay will take part to the following activities:- course on "Strength based coaching and guidance" held by In Dialogue (07-10 June 2016, Austria)- course on “Strategic management” held by In Dialogue (14-17 October 2016, Denmark)- course on "Narrative coaching and guidance”, held by In Dialogue ( 3-6 Aprile 2017, Austria)- course on “Conflict mediation”, held by In Dialogue (26-29 May 2016, Denmark)- course on "Teaching and training LGBT*, held in Netherlands by In Dialogue- 3 days course/ training event in Slovakia- 4 days of job shadowing in a LGBT Portuguese organizationMETHODOLOGYThe courses are follow-up with a focus on implementation in the daily practice. In-dialogue will give Support to the management in guiding our staff to apply their new competences (e.g. via e-learning).Job-shadowing offering a chance to observe good practices within areas of development identified during workshop.RESULTS AND IMPACT- Increase knowledge about good practices on management of LGBT organization;- Increase awareness of leadership skills at local, national and international level;- Raise awareness about formal and non-formal techniques in the development of workshops with teams and groups;- Exchange good practice on capacity building and activism at European level.Furthermore, participants will be able to share the new competences acquired with the other volunteers and staff members of Arcigay, creating an indirect positive impact and change among all the users of the organization and the national LGBT community.Arcigay will integrate the competences and experiences acquired by staff participating in the project, into its strategic development in the future
