This project entitled "Precision Agriculture: the future production system of agricultural products" refers to the mobility of students in vocational training in the field of Agriculture, of 1st EPAL Megara. The project would involve 25 students, who for a period of 14 days will go to Italy. The flow will be implemented in December 2014, upon request of the sending institution and the host institution (PROBER). The duration of the mobility abroad is satisfactory to cover the educational needs of the participants in order to gain the necessary knowledge on issues of precision agriculture and simultaneously strengthen the intercultural and linguistic characteristics of the program. It is expected that students will gain significant knowledge and experience for a modern theme that concerns modern management methods applied to agricultural land and based on observation, measurement and response to changes in crops. The precision agriculture consists of a set of innovations and essentially provides an integrated decision support system. The project will include theoretical training of scientific staff of the host organization, scheduled visits to significant firms or certified laboratories for practical training and cultural visits. Participation in this mobility plan will result to students gaining valuable experience and important skills in order to achieve the following specific objectives: * To inform and raise awareness with regard to the applications of precision farming so that producers can adopt this system of agricultural production and achieve significant economic and environmental benefits, * To work in an environment with different technologies and expertise, * To practice and perfect a foreign language, * To experience a different culture, * To increase their chances of finding work in Greece or in some foreign country. Through the project it is aimed to address the following training needs of the students which are directly related and relevant to the needs of the labor market, focusing on the following: * Show applications of precision agriculture, * Analysis and understanding of the impact that is offered through tracking in real time and non-real time, * Reduce use of fertilizers and pesticides, * Improving quality products. Through the project, the trainees are expected to gain valuable experience and important skills, which are expected to contribute to a subsequent working career and are identified in the following results: * Strengthening the capabilities of the participants in order to enable them to successfully meet the requirements formulated in the field of agriculture, * Guaranteeing that the trainees will broaden the range of their activities, * The adoption of new techniques and methods already widely used in the international market. The training program was designed according to the characteristics and needs of participants in order to obtain the specialized knowledge required in relation to the precision agriculture, so that in combination with the received practical skills and attitudes required by their specialty, to become competitive and be able to pursue and achieve their integration into the labor market. In the proposed project we expect to achieve multiplier effects and benefits, both for participants and for their external parties involved. This adds value to the project, helping to spread the importance of mobility programs, accreditation and recognition of acquired knowledge and skills and to establish a network for the development of partnerships between training institutions and enterprises.
