GENESIS Capacity Building for Entrepreneurship Management

The project, carried out by 3 member institutions of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities, will develop and test a 'Master Programme in Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MMIE)' aimed at mid-career professionals. It will provide 'entrepreneurial change agents' with techniques to empower small firm owners and managers with the necessary skills to run their companies in a dynamic and innovative manner. It will focus on the need for creation of SMEs and support their growth by providing a thorough insight into entrepreneurial and innovative methodologies. Flexible and innovative programmes will be developed to promote entrepreneurial skills and competencies. For this purpose, the project intends to provide theoretical and practical support to those advising, consulting, selling and providing public services to SMEs. The partnership will support and implement the programme for a year. It will then be tested and adapted to the realities of the countries involved in the partnership. The project will be carried out over four semesters, and be geared to working adults who already have a degree and who are engaged in the support of services for SMEs and entrepreneurs. The project will promote long-term contact between the direct beneficiaries, which is intended to continue after the lifetime of the project. Beneficiaries will obtain support from these contacts or from specialised tutors. The project is also concerned with disseminating the expected results to a wider public, organising several conferences and seminars at national and international level. This is intended to have a larger multiplying effect, beyond the direct beneficiaries.
