Generationen über Grenzen verbinden
Start date: Mar 1, 2015, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

In our project the volunteers are working in social institutions in which several generations are joined together. Thus they gain experience in cross-generation- living together and develop competencies to connect people of different ages. The participation of volunteers from different cultural backgrounds and the cooperation with people being cared for in these facilities is an interesting achievement of the project with a European dimension. The volunteers will work together in media project in form of radio broadcasts to share and process their experiences. These radio programs will be published in regional radio stations. They receive instruction and support by an experienced radio team. The main focus of the public relations lies in the activities of their host organizations. These will be questions about living together across different generations and different cultures. They will select and edit the themes independently. They will also mediate the European voluntary service on the basis of the program Erasmus+ to other young people in the region of Jena. The volunteers will get support for the joint activities from the teams of the host organization through regularly meetings. The volunteers are working in different institutions. These institutions belong to the same network. In this way joint efforts of both the institutions and the volunteers can be implemented. Within the networks of cross-generation institutions and the institutions of youth welfare volunteers are active through many events effectively. With the help of the project, the idea of living together can be carried out and presented in a common Europe across all age groups and with people from different cultures. Our EVS-volunteers will take part in the festival "Volunteers go for fair europe" for all European volunteers in Jena.
