GENDER TRAINING SEMINAR FOR YOUTH WORKERS
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Apr 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Project GENDER TRAINING SEMINAR FOR YOUTH WORKERS answers to the Erasmus+ Programme aim of promoting equity and inclusion by facilitating the access to learners with disadvantaged backgrounds and fewer opportunities compared to their peers. These persons have a disadvantage because of personal difficulties or obstacles that limit or prevent them from taking part in transnational projects. The obstacles or difficulties these persons may face are categorized as Social obstacles: people facing discrimination because of gender. The project, applied by GLOW ASSOCIATION from BG involves other 5 partner NGO's from ES, IT, LT, TR and TU, in three stages, developing a previous work by selected youth workers (2 per NGO, male and female) until a total of 30 youth workers, to identify current situation of young women in their territories and how youth work is touching them. A preparatory meeting will set the basis up for a 7 days training seminar in Veliko Tarnovo (BG) with the aim of providing to the mentioned youth workers with the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes to improve the youth work with a gender perspective, in order to achieve the equity and inclusion. Expected results are: • Greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity, with a gender perspective • More active participation in society of young women • More positive attitude towards the European project and the EU values, taking in consideration the Equality between Women and Men policies. • Increased motivation and satisfaction in the daily work of the youth workers dealing with gender matters. The long term benefits should be visible during the period 2014 - 2020, due to the expected multiplying effect of the training seminar provided by the youth workers in next training activities and projects.
