Gender Role Inequalities

The project is going to develop a cultural integration and give the students a chance to have ideas about the gender roles in other societies. The project is also intended to increase students’ awareness as to gender impacts on the modern social institution, family behaviour, work place, the political world and mass media. Cultures provide people with ways of thinking-ways of seeing, hearing, and interpreting the world. Thus the same words can mean different things to people from different cultures even they talk the same language. So through this project, the students will learn the other cultures’ point of view on gender roles and how they cope with the inequalities. They will become aware of the similar problems which are dealt with in a different way by other societies. The visits will enable them to acquire further knowledge on the similarities and differences between the cultures and promote selfconfidence in individuals and teams. In addition to these, the cooperation is a good opportunity to improve language skills as well as to increase the motivation of teachers and students. Each partner will make his/her research for his/her country and assign the students for the topics. There are five topics which will be presented during the visits; a research about women’s devolopment throughout the history, gender inequality in workplace, gender roles in parenting and marriage, biological differences and discrimination of women in society. In order to generalize the project, all the results will be published. Each partner will explain himself/herself to all partners by using photos, slideshows, albums and a web page.
