GENÇLÝK VE ÝSTÝHDAM: FARKLI PERSPEKTÝFLER YOUTH AND EMPLOYMENT: DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES

This project aims to develop mutual understanding about one of the most hot topics of European Union: youth and its active employment. For this purpose, project aims to gather 32 youngsters from 6 European countries (including Turkey), to produce a 75-100 min. documentary movie, combined from 5 short films of 15-20 min. length, which will be shot during youngsters' stay in Ankara.Five different sectors of employment will be considered in this scope: Youth and Agriculture; Youth and Service Sector; Youth and Industry; Youth and Education; Youth and Voluntary work. 5 groups of young Europeans combined in teams of 6 persons, each from different country, will shoot short movies about these five different areas and will explore role and status of young people in these areas. In the scope of Youth & Agriculture, shootings will be made in Kalecik, province of Ankara full with wineyards, employing a lot of young people from villages nearby. Film shootings about Youth & Industry will be made at OSTÝM Organized Industry Zone, an industrial zone with a lot of factories and metal workshops inside the city of Ankara. Youth & Service Sector will mainly be dealing with problems of young people employed as service workers, such as call center employees, waiters/waitresses, shop assistants at malls etc. Youth & Education will be dealing with young people who are still studying at the different universities of Ankara, their expectations and hopes about the life after graduation. And finally Youth & Voluntary Work will be dealing with the young people who are involved as voluntary workers in NGOs etc. In the scope of the project two day workshop about theory and practice of documentary film making will be given by leading experts in these areas. Also before the starting of the filming process, each country group will present short films and documentaries (if available) and information about situation of young people and youth's active empoyment in their own country.As an output, project expects to produce a long documentary film, combined from short films, which will be sent to governmental and nongovermental organizations, municipalities, culture centers, film festivals etc. across Europe and Turkey. The output of the project will also be screened on Turkish TV channels such as Baþkent TV, Local Broadcasters Association having 165 local TVs as members, and TRT Anadolu, public broadcasting body in Turkey. The screening of the final output of the project will be done with the participation of different local, govermental and nongovermental authorities, NGOs and youth organizations and later on will be followed by the discussion panel about the subject.The project is fully supported by Ankara Special Provincial Administration, and some local municipalities together with a number of other NGOs and youth organizations in Turkey.
