Start date: Jun 26, 2014, End date: Jun 25, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Community School Handewitt is one of the first schools in Schleswig- Holstein, which is making the transition from a three -tier school system to an integrated school form . We therefore have only limited recourse to the experiences of other schools. Under the project entitled " Together , inclusive learning in heterogeneous learning groups - from other European countries we learn " we want a functioning , including working school system to offer all school degrees depending on the individual skills of the students . Since we live in a bilingual region with a strong Danish minority , we have opted to look into the school system in South Tyrol , also a bilingual region. Our project objective relates to all areas of school development with an emphasis on teaching development : Inclusion of pupils with special (funding ) needs in mainstream "normal" schools, Methodology within the differentiated teaching , Performance feedback and evaluation in heterogeneous learning groups , Development of competence-based professional curricula , Project-based learning and working in an equal age and mixed grade learning groups Transitions from primary to secondary schools and from there to the secondary level , Increasing the rate of higher-value degrees without sacrificing quality. The four participating teachers have the following profiles : A colleague from school management, who specializes in the issues of education and teaching organization and whose portfolio also includes elements of teacher education and training . In each case , a colleague in the field of primary and secondary education who is concerned with both, teaching foreign languages ( English, Danish ) and with the peculiarities of the educational work in heterogeneous learning groups as well as the special issue of inclusion. A colleague , who mainly taught in secondary education, who will judge its focus on the higher education qualifications and the applicable time educational standards. Mainly provided are the following activities: Information about the school system in South Tyrol by representatives of teachers, school administrators and school administrators on site, Observation visits to nurseries, primary and secondary schools and in the sixth form , Insights into teachers training through visits to "teacher training institutes" , Insights into the characteristics of a multilingual region through experiences and observations in all of the above areas , Formal and informal discussions with all stakeholders at the school and with other seminar participants from different European countries. We want to integrate the experience gained locally and on the findings in both, the updating of our school program as well as our school's curriculum from the point of internal differentiation to terms of performance measurement and performance assessment and receive suggestions for the practical lesson planning . Overall, we expect in the long run, in the above-mentioned Areas suggestions in terms of " best practice" for further development in our school. In addition, we hope to find international contacts with like-minded people .
