Start date: Aug 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our target is to develop recommendations and conceptions with the help of two volunteers to welcome people from other countries in the region “Rudolstadt”. The European Volunteers will take place in the projects for 12 months. One project will be in the “Fröbelschule Cumbach” with a volunteer from Belarus. The other project will be in a home for children and youth called "Heilpädagogisches Wohnheim Fröbelhaus". The second project we´re organizing together with a sending partner from Italy. Both projects are funded by “JugendSozialwerk Nordhausen e. V.” and base on the approaches of Friedrich Froebel. His principle are based on practical work and life. We want to include the volunteers in all care and support services. They will teach children and youth to deal with new and strange experiences. Of course, Europe is also an important topic in both projects. The volunteers will show their special target groups Europe in an innovative and creative way. For the professional and personal integration educators, teachers and tutors will corresponding with both volunteers. The task instructions is made by Mrs. Nicolai in the “Fröbelschule”. She is the director and has a good overview of all areas. In “Heilpädagogischen Wohnheim” this role is associated by Kathrin Nixdorf. She is a social worker and also the head of the facility. All project managers have completed appropriate training on diversity and intercultural learning. In the same way, both projects have a lot of practible experiences. For example in planning and organizing youth exchanges and the “Fröbelschule” especially in EVS. The primary responsibility of the coordination is accept by Nadja Gropp. She is also the Stakeholders for volunteers and gives them help and advice. We ensure sustainability by involving volunteers at public events at the local level. There they will get in touch all kind of people and exchange ideas. At the same time, volunteers are encouraged to write and report for our magazine "Blitzlicht" and our anual album "Litfaßsäule". Overall, we achieve sustainability through intensive cooperation, regular evaluations, additional training opportunities and the aforementioned overarching events and actions.
