Gastromobil 2014 - Ribisel
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The present project of the Ausbildungsverbund Lüchow-Dannenberg e.V. (AVLD, Lüchow-Dannenberg training association) is based on the experience gained from the Gastromobil 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.It also extends and qualitatively improves the collaborative training venture: 9 apprentices from the Lüneburger Heide (Lüneburg Heath) and the Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg (district of Lüchow-Dannenberg) in their first, second, and possibly third year of apprenticeship in the hospitality, restaurant and hotel business, or cookery will undergo a 9-weeks-period of learning (from January to March) in Austrian hotels and restaurants. A corresponding exchange stay for trainees from Austria at German hotels and restaurants is scheduled for summer of 2014. The direct cooperation between Austrian and German partner hotels will be intensified and is expected to continue beyond the secondment period. Since 2011, AVLD has been collaborating with the Verbundausbildung Ostfriesland (VAO, Ostfriesland collaborative training) association. Joint journies to Austria/Zell am See and tours of the destination have strengthened the confidence of the participants and the feeling of togetherness between them. Since the cooperation has exerted a positive effect on the trainees‘ periods of learning, it is planned that both groups of participants will travel together again to Zell. Gastromobil 2014 aims at improving the quality of training in the tourism sector in the less-favoured region of Lüneburger Heide (a convergence region) by providing the collaborative training venture in Austria. The tourist businesses of the Lüneburger Heide usually offer a restricted range of services. Hence, the trainees will benefit from a broader range of learning situations during their visit in Austria. Moreover, additional training places can be provided by those businesses which mostly receive guests during the summer season, and would not provide training otherwise. The partner businesses in Austria take over the training during winter. A strong network will be established for the collaborative training venture of the Lüneburger Heide und Pinzgau regions, in order to help young people strengthen their intercultural skills, mobility and flexibility, receive quality training and thereby improve their employment prospects. The project also aims at raising trainees' awareness of sustainable business practices. In Germany, regional expansion is achieved by involving businesses of the larger Lüneburger Heide region. The Lüneburg-Wolfsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce enters into an active partnership (recruiting businesses, advisory services in relation to the collaborative training), finds and allocates apprentices and monitors the apprenticeships in Germany. The vocational (secondary) schools of Lüneburg, Soltau and Zeven help with coordinating school-based learning periods and the training stays abroad. The present project will use ECVET elements for the first time, in order to ensure transparency of learning outcomes and to assure the quality of the training stays. To this end, the units of learning outcomes for the above-mentioned professions have been determined beforehand with the Austrian training enterprises and a partnership agreement (MoU) and learning agreements (LA) have been concluded with the Austrian cooperative partners. The apprentices during their 9-weeks training stays will have to compile two monthly reports on their activities and experience. The learning outcomes will be recorded in the Europass documents.
