GALLICUM SIN FRONTERAS: PARA UNA EDUCACIÓN EUROPEA
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

As part of a growing globalised Europe, our school’s main objective is for our students to develop a higher level of communicative competence in English and French, which are the languages taught in our school and which are part of the School Development Plan. We will achieve this by implementing new methodologies based on cooperative learning, learning autonomy, the use of ICT and other teaching experiences. Improving foreign language proficiency will gradually allow our students to have the same level of competence as our European neighbours. In order to develop our project successfully, all the teachers involved must get the necessary training through structured courses in the UK, Ireland and France. Moreover, the school offers to be part of a jobshadowing scheme and welcomes other European peer teachers. We would also like to be part of these exchanges and visit other European schools. The acquisition of all these experiences will be of great value for our teaching practice and our foreign language competence. Our school has wide experience in starting up innovation projects related with new teaching methodologies. The teachers involved have a long career in coordinating innovation and teacher training projects, together with management and organization duties, due to their wide experience in school managing posts. Finally, the project is led by five teachers although it is open to all the teaching community. In fact, our final aim is to increase the number of participants. We will therefore inform other staff members and follow and assess the project through a language seminar which will be held in the school or region.
