Fruitfulness of volunteering

The proiect entitled 'Fruitfulness of volunteering' has the central idea of involving two volunteers from two different cultures: Germany and Turkey. They will participate in a 10-month EVS service in the social programme for roma children in Oradea, run by the FCD. The need identified of FCD is that besides the formal knowledge, experience is lacking in the development of young people, the opportunities of intercultural learning in Europe. Through this EVS the two volunteers are offered a frame where they can experience interculturality, they can develop their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship working with children of Roma nationality. The activities planned will hlep develop their creativity, adaptability learning and using non-formal methods of learning. The objectives of the project corresponds the need and the profile of the volunteers: becoming more indepedent, to know other cultures, to try out their ability in entrepreneurship. In order to become potential entrepreneurs it is essential to experience interculturality, international learning, flexibility, responsability, organisation of events, proactivity, development of spirit of initiative. The two volunteers aged 18-23 will have socio-educational activities with children, they will elaborate min-proiects based on their own ideas, a logo fo the project, promoting the project and EVS, Erasmus+ in schools and other programmes of Diakonia in other towns, they will have a debate on the equity and balance of gender, they will meet with entrepreneurs during their EVS service. The methodology used contains a variety of non-formal methods of learning like: brainstorming, workshop, games, debate, evaluations in creative forms, mentoring, personal and group discussions, analises, learning by doing, experiential learning. The results foreseen are: a videoclip made by the volunteers about the project, articles, bags with the logo of the project imprinted on them, abilities developed, atittudes formed in the field of pedagogie, social work, entrepreneuship, cultural identity. The impact expected of the project is the follow-up activities of the volunteers in their home country after the service, developing in the future of the abilities and the spirit of initiative, and to become potential entrepreneurs of Europe. On the other hand, for FCD to open new EVS placements in for the volunteers, and for the children in the programme to become potential EVS volunteers in the future.
