Friendship between communities, in Pir and Szatmárcseke (Împreună)

The project aims at improving co-operations between the local communities of Pir and Szatmárcseke settlements. There are two Village Days organized, one in Pir and one in Szatmárcseke, where the inhabitants of both settlements participate. Among project activities, there is also an International Plum Jam Cooking Festival, organized in Szatmárcseke, with participants from both sides of the border, joint school excursions for children and teachers, one to Hungary and one to Romania, two summer school vacation camps planned, one to Hungary and one to Romania. Further inter-institutional meetings are planned as well, between public institutions on both sides of the border. Additionally, two civil days are organized, where NGOs from both sides of the border can participate and establish co-operation. A similar event is planned for entrepreneurs, in order to enhance business related information and to establish co-operation.The project objective is to strengthen social and economic cohesion in the border region by developing interpersonal ties between community members. The project addresses the population of the 2 communes having as main result a series of events on different themes.
