Two teachers training in language and methodology to embed the target language into our school. We hope this will help the school follow the new national curriculum, as well as finding new partners abroad and help pupils to use ICT to communicate with others schools out with the UK. Both teachers have participated in local authority FLAME Training in French. The sessions focused on age-appropriate methodology. Following the training, both teachers have implemented and delivered French language learning with their pupils, resulting in a greater understanding of appropriate methodology for introducing French with P1-3 pupils. Both teachers would like to further develop their French language and use of methodologies within a different context and would relish the opportunity to be immersed in the language within the French culture. As part of the Cluster RACI group, they aim to collect and embed good resources and practice of language and promote partnerships with colleagues, parents and pupils about the links with the EU. They also plan to use new skills, knowledge and resources from the course to contribute towards a cluster framework of progression across the whole primary school.
