Fremdsprachen in der Volksschule-eine europäische Herausforderung

In Gloggnitz the primary school has more than 200 pupils from all over Europe and wants to be part of the European dimension for a positive future. The base for that acting is a perfect language handling, which will help us to fullfill all our project activities e.g. school partnerships, pupils- ans teacherexchanges and common project activities.
The chance of multilingualism will also be a base for the employment in the European area and is therefor the school starting point for an international dimension in the 21. century.
The partnerships with other schools will lead to a network process and more different kinds of mobility from pupils and teachers in whole Europe which will bring us to a steady increase of the European dimension in our school.
Common activities with our European partners will give us a kind of sustainability, the use of the results of multilingualism will show all members of the project the positive aspects of it and will lead to an enlargement of knowledge, a constant improve of quality and a protection of the quality standards. The pupils get to know the need and the advantages of language learning including the benefits of language learning via special project activities for their age range.
One of our main topics is to point out the positive aspect of lifelong learning, which is enclosed in the ERASMUS aims 2020 especially to make the very young ones curious for new and different languages as a base for the further language learning activities to enrich their whole lives. These points are the basics for the purchase of key skills for lifelong learning which has to be initiated during the school time.
