FreeStyle Facilitation
Start date: Aug 1, 2012,

FreeStyle Facilitation is a training project that will bring together 21 youth workers/leaders who are interested in developing basic competences in facilitation of learning processes and services provided for young people with the aim of empowering them. We specifically focus on deepening the understanding of facilitation, improve professional competences of youth workers, providing a space for practice, deepen the theoretical knowledge of the participants and create new partnerships. The preparation phase of the training course will be based on needs assessment of participants and the programme of the training course will be developed in relation to this. The training course will last for 7 full working days and will take place in Ukraine It involves partners from Belgium , Belarus, Portugal, Cyprus, Ukraine and Armenia. The activities will be set in a Non-Formal education framework using participant directed activities focussed at the needs of the participants. After the training course, each participant will develop a facilitation project and plan, and will implement them in their daily activities. The programme will be built according to needs assessment of participants, the follow-up will be documented and further collaboration will also be supported during the project. The web-site www.freestylefacilitation.org will be used as a communication and documenting tool of the project. Given the importance of facilitation skills of youth workers/leaders, we reckon the theme of the project is in itself innovative and, although facilitation is the baseline of each youth worker/leaders’s competences, little tackled as a main theme in the training field in Europe today.
