The Project focuses on improving the quality of education and educational outcomes of the school and is adressed to members of staff who have at least basic knowledge in French. The objectives of the programme are: a) to strengthen and update the language skills of staff members who will participate as well as knowledge and experiences concerning the contemporary French culture, b) building positive attitudes at school in learning the French language and culture, and c) the wider participation in european projects like e-twinning and Erasmus plus. Six members of the staff who may come from different disciplines in addition to teachers of French will have the opportunity to participate in the programme . Criterion for their selection will be their desire to improve their knowledge and skills in French and basic knowledge of the French language in accordance with the European Framework of Reference for Languages. Teachers who have received a grant to attend seminars abroad in the last two years can not apply. The training programme lasts one week and thirty hours of training giving the ability to adjust depending on the language level and the specific needs of each participant identified during registration. The training is based on interactive methods and authentic texts. It includes six hours of language teaching, three hours teaching or coursework in French school, six hours culture focused on contemporary discussions of social issues through the press, cinema, music and fifteen hours to extra curricular activities.There is the opportunity for participants, through multinational groups and the French language, to communicate, live together developing ties of friendship and mutual understanding and respect. The experiences of staff members will help on the one hand to improve the level and quality of education offered in the school in terms of foreign languages and also motivate students in learning french, and on the other hand to build a bridge among the school, the European Union and the world through participation in European programmes such as e-twinning and Erasmus plus.
