FOSTER - Friendly Organisational Strategies and Training for Employment Relations

The FOSTER project will facilitate knowledge transfer, primarily for the benefit of SME's, in relation to implementing equality of access to employment via friendly, organisational strategies that also incorporate training as a tool of internal and external mobility. The full range of groups at risk of discrimination will be covered, i.e. Article 13 groups as well as long-term unemployed and residents of disadvantaged areas. Partners, which including business advice and training agencies, will mobilise their networks to create information and learning tools for SME and HR managers, trade unions (social partners), education providers and minority groups. Products to be generated include national and overview reports on employment practice for equality, a video documentary (CD and DVD) and case studies highlighting best practice in partner countries as well as a step-by-step guide for employers. All products will be made freely available on-line in five languages (EN, ES, EL, PL & RO) to be further accompanied by a discussion forum. A dedicated website will publicise project activities throughout (www.fosterproject.com). Seminars in each partner country will inform user groups and will circulate free information packs. Materials can potentially be used as part of certificated courses in Personnel and Employment Relations.
