FORTALECIENDO NUESTRA FORMACIÓN PROFESIONAL ABIERTA A EUROPA
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

IES Don Bosco (Albacete) offers lessons for Vocational Training, secondary and high schools. It has a staff of 95 teachers, 48 of which teach VET. Within these 48 , teaching is divided among 26 Technical teachers and 22 Secondary Teachers. The average age is 50 years-old. None of the 26 technical teachers has the English B2 accreditation of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and only 6 of Secondary Teachers have such accreditation . These data lead us to affirm that, in our organization, lack of language skills has been a huge barrier for: a) participation in European programs b ) adding a European dimension to our teachings. Nevertheless, in the last two years IES Don Bosco has modernized and internationalized its VET with two projects with a strong European dimension: bilingual program and KA102 mobilities. In our region, IES Don Bosco has become, in 2014, in the first public school to implement an English language project in the "Technician in Electrical and Automatic Installations" Diploma and in the "Higher Technician in Electrotechnical and Automated Systems" Diploma. Moreover, although we had previous experience in K103 mobilities, it has been in 2015 when Don Bosco has organized its first K102 mobilities. There are nine mobilities managed thanks to Erasmus + 2014-1-ES01-KA102-000807 project, which was the highest rated of all the Castilla-La Mancha schools that made the request in 2014. The launch of these two initiatives have not completed the process of improving the quality of our teaching. On the other hand, they are the beggining. That is why , to consolidate and enhance multilingualism and KA102 mobilities, we need to increase the number of VET teachers that have English language proficiency. This project aims to have three teachers of our school, linked to the development of these modernizing initiatives, following English courses organized by Alpha College, to improve and strengthen their language skills. The courses are specially designed to improve and strengthen the language proficiency of teachers, while developing CLIL strategies and improving the overall methodology. They will also use new technologies in the classroom. The expected results are: -the consolidation of the bilingual program, thanks to the incorporation of technical teachers of FP and thus, expanding the professional modules to study in English and achieving the second level in the bilingual project. -KA102 mobilities consolidation. The expected impact is: * At participating teachers: -Improved English language proficiency. -Better quality of work and activities for students by the CLIL methodology. -More support for the KA102 mobilities. * In IES Don Bosco: -Increased ability to operate at EU level. -Improved management skills and strategies of internationalization. * In Alpha College: -Consolidation its range of courses for teachers. * For students: -Improved learning outcomes and linguistic competence. -Increased improving employability and career prospects. In Albacete province: -Better knowledge of other European countries industry and different labor organizations. As possible long-term benefits, we have: -Increased ability to cause changes in terms of modernization and international openness. -Consolidation of the European strategy of our organization. -Improved our organization image. -Increased awareness of the European project and the values of the EU. -More motivation to participate in further education after the mobility period abroad by increasing the rate of graduates in higher education (Europe 2020). -Increase the European dimension by opening synergies with EU organizations.
