Forming International Learning Communities In Furniture Industry

The project INLEARNCOM is based on the previous work carried out under the Leonardo da Vinci I project MWEBLearning, thus, aims at increasing the competitive capacity of the furniture sector by improving the life-long learning capacity of the sector. To reach this goal, there will be created a trans-national learning system with an eye to total quality in order to collect, consolidate and disseminate good practices which can aid to define a new approach by developing an international and inter-organisational Learning Community through business sector institutions as dinamisation elements. The high concentration of enterprises characterizing the participating regions offers an excellent chance for development in the global market, providing that these enterprises would be able to act together under a system approach aided by mediator institutions. ICT can facilitate an exchange of good practices and the transference of results and techniques among the companies in the sector, allowing the development of innovating devices for identification, assessment and valorisation of formal and informal internal learning processes, in order to allow the organization to recognise and put in value to acquired learning.
