Our School is located in Pomigliano d'Arco, a small town close to Naples.
The structure consists of three buildings with playgrounds and gardens. Classrooms are equipped with computer and we have music and language labs.
The school is attended by about 1100 students, divided between kindergarten (preschool) and primary.
The social context is various: it's possible to identify different status, including underprivileged classes and foreigners.
For this reason, the primary school has started some projects focused on the cultural and social diversity, finalized to develop and encourage the students integration.
We have begun to acquire new technologies in the classroom to facilitate the integrating of the ICT teaching method with the traditional one, in the way to envolve all children in learning.
At the same time, we have planned a lot of activities in English, just to increase the learning of this language, both from a linguistic point of view that cultural: literature understanding, storytelling, dramatization, and so on.
Therefore, this organisation needs to support the teachers training on some points.
The specific aims of the project, entitled "Learning and education for an european school", are the following:
- further development of the English language level for teachers and non-teaching staff
- to introduce new areas of teaching methodologies and accompanying techniques
- to introduce an awareness of technology and ICT in the classrooms
- to start the english learning in the preschool
- to test the second community language (French) in the primary school
- to improve the teaching for special needs children
- to enhance intercultural awareness
- to ensure the quality and the effective evaluation of education at all levels
The project involves the mobility of 24 persons in the first half of the academic year.
They will be monitored during all the phases: from pre-course questionnaire until the evaluation session.
Our organization will elect a coordinator group, who will be in charge to plan and fulfill the project.
The group will get through to the foreing partners to establish common aims of the training:
- plannying each step before the mobility, including travel, accomodation, insurance, mentoring and support;
- following online and outline learning by workspace setted up to help and support participants;
- collect documents and information gained during the courses;
- dissemination the fullfilled activities and achieved results.
The participants of the training are expected to be able to select activities which they would like to try out in their own classes and pass on the information in their own school and institutions, as such as: innovative methodology, technology and multimedia, pedagogical information, teaching in a multicultural context, quality assurance in education and training.
The second half of the year will be focused around the dissemination and exploitation activities: meetings with staff and other target groups (public and private institutions, local and national organizations); launching some Personal Development Action Plan and EU class project in conjunction with classes abroad by e-twinning system for example.
