Formativ bedömning i grundskolan: kunskapsutbyte mellan Sverige och England

In order to help our students to improve their school performance, we at Guldhedenskolan started a project to implement a methodology called Assessment for Learning in march 2013, that is developed by, among others , the British Education Professor Dylan William. We have a need to deepen our practical knowledge of this methodology. In the UK there are several schools that have long experience in using this methodology. The main idea of this project is to let teachers and principals have the opportunity to meet more experienced colleagues in the UK, teachers and principals who have experience in both the practical use of the methodology and experience of supervising colleagues in order to spread knowledge among the school´s staff. The goals of the project is to enable teachers to gain greater knowledge of how assessment for learning is applied in the classroom and how to conduct peer learning among teachers. Principals will be given achieve an understanding of the organizational conditions necessary to enforce assesment for learning successfully. In longer terms, we are convinced that this methodology has good potential to help students develop their skills, abilities and values. This will help students to improve their school performance, which contributes to the objectives stated on a regional as well as on an European level. Eight persons are participating in the project to visit schools in Tipton, West Midlands in England. The selected staff (assesment for learning - responsible teachers and principals ) are responsible for implementing and spread knowledge about this methodology to their colleagues. The schools to be visited have years of experience working with assesment for learning. All participants who participate in the project have key positions in our work in implementing assesment for learning. In Tipton teachers will job shadow teachers. Principals will job shadow and exchange experiences with principals and others who have experience in organizing school work based on this methodology.
