Formation méthodologique et linguistique en anglais pour les professeurs des écoles

Context and objects of our project : We work in a REP+ school ( it means a school with children that has social difficulties). In our school, we have a lot of bilingual children. At home they have developed skills we want to use to develop learning a new language, a European and international language. It’s a priority in our school project. “ Beeing ambitious with English language learning” “cultural integration and being openminded” Number of participants and benefits : all pedagogical team (4 teachers) participate in the project, all teachers are teaching english. Description of activities : this project includes of course improving in english, a course in teaching foreign languages, the discovery of Irish culture, the discovery of Anglophone cultures, participation in Etwinning, finding European contacts, the discovery of others educational systems, and finding authentics documents. Methodology : preparation meetings with the teaching team, with our local pedagogical advisor in languages, with our English language assistant-> training session -> teacher council to discuss the progression for “cycle 2” and “cycle 3” -> measuring results -> dissemination of results in school council and with middle school. Impact and expected results : linguistic and cultural openness, A1 level at the end of primary school, motivation to learn new languages, and the hope students will continue English in European class or bilingual class in a local college. Potential long-term benefits: a dynamic image for the school in foreign languages and motivation for mobility from the pupils.
