Formation en entreprises européennes des élèves de TRANSPORT du LP Emile Combes de Bègles
Start date: Nov 10, 2014, End date: Nov 9, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This mobility project is undertaken for students who are enrolled in the Section Européenne – Exploitation des Transports Baccalauréat in the technical college of Emile Combes in Bègles, located in the suburbs of Bordeaux. Within a social and economic difficult situation, it is essential to organize projects that will make the access to the work of market and to the continuation of studies easier. The main goals of such project for students include: - The development of the feeling of being a European citizen - The development of the taste for discovering ( both cultural and professional) - The development of the taste for mobility and for the capacity of adaptation - The improvement of self-esteem - The access to a certain level of general knowledge - The strengthening and the increasing of both linguistics knowledge in Spanish and the professional proficiency in Transport subject. - The capacity to master new technology and the use of company software. - The validation of the students’ European process (ie: Europass) - Highlighting the image of French vocational school. There would be eight participants to the mobility project. We intend to send four students from the section Terminal Exploitation des Transports Baccalauréat each year, in big or medium transport companies located in Irun, in the Spanish Pays-Basque (Gipuzkoa). The work experience would last six weeks. The quality of the students’ internship would be assessed and also taken into account for getting the certificate. This would be led thanks to the school report book of proficiency filled in by the tutor in each company and thanks to the activities worksheets, linked with the situations found during the period of internship, produced by the students. A steering committee within the school, monitors the project. The latter is composed of: the Headmaster of the school, the Head of work, the Account Manager, three DNL (Non Linguistics Discipline) teachers (ie: Mathematics, P.E and Exploitation des Transports teachers) and the Spanish teacher. So far, we have already noticed some effect on our participants (students) and we hope that this will continue. Among these are: better results in Spanish and Transports subjects at the exam, a clear improvement in students’ maturity and self-confidence, a certain open-mindness as well as a taste for travelling and a good capacity for adapting. For our school and our collaborators, this allows us to exchange views, to understand each others’ needs in order to, amongst other things, adapt the educative system to the world of business on a European scale in a better way. Finally, we think that this type of project increase the value of vocational teaching and it contributes to a good integration into the world of work while promoting culture.
