Formation de l'équipe pédagogique encadrant les élèves du dispositif EMILE
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Jules Ferry middle school will open an EMILE class at the start of the school year 2015-2016 as a continuation of what has already been done for 4 years in the primary school of La Concorde, Barberaz. As soon as 2015-2016, Jules Ferry middle school will welcome approximatively 25 students every year thanks to the EMILE program. If other similar program were to be opened in the area, Jules Ferry middle school would be able to welcome all the students involved in such program. At this point, the non linguistic subjects that were taken on are Earth and Life science, Physical Education and Physics and Chemistry. In the long run, other subjects such as Mathematics, History and Geography or Technology should also be taught in English. We are willing to offer a large range of subjects taught in English to our students. Non-linguitic subject teachers and English teachers are eager to acquire additional skills and are already working on it : - they are strenghtening their linguistics skills and working on validating an English degree for non-linguistic subject teachers. - they are strenghtening their educational and teaching skills by working on how the subject they teach in France is taught in other european countries so that the way they teach will not be a mere translation of their subject but a profound modification of their teaching pratice. The whole educational team together with the school administrators will be involved in the program. We are willing to provide an adequate teaching and social environment to the EMILE students so that they feel motivated in their Learning process. In the long term, we would like all the students from the school to benefit from the dynamic created by the program. Concurrently with the EMILE program, we would like to devellop the language department of our school by putting in place a multilateral partnership involving the EMILE students, the COMENIUS students from Monge High School (the local high school) and the students from a high school from Madrid. Thanks to the different training and projects, we can become a resource school for those willing to take part in a CLIL porject. We can work together with the DAREIC, the IEN and IPR to provide different kind of training courses or meetings: - job shadowing for primary and middle school teachers - presentation meetings - help teachers and school administrators to set up ERASMUS project - take part in training course in the regional eduation authority of Grenoble. We can set up a european network to create and exchange datas and teaching tools for CLIL.
