Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project ”INITIAL QUALITY THROUGH MOBILITY - DESIGN AND WEB PROGRAMMING", 2014-1-RO01-KA102-000956, answered the need of the target audience, students from 9-11 grades maths-computer science intensive computer science and intensive English from "Gh. Vranceanu " National College, Bacau, beneficiary institution, to complete their initial theoretical training through internships in European companies and acquire vocational skills according to their profile. The project was organized in three flows, 2 in Portugal and 1 in Spain, between 2014 and 2016. In its implementation we worked with six companies receiving IT (Inforcavado LDA from Portugal and Luminosa Alhambra SL, Seriplas Rotulacion SL Namibia FJJ SL, Informatica Cano Granada SL and Sistemas de Información y Proteccion of Datos, SL in Spain) and 2 intermediary companies: Associacao Amigos da Intercultural Mobilidade, Braga, Portugal, respectively Europroyectos Leonardo da Vinci SL, Granada, Spain, which helped achieve 100% all the project objectives initially envisaged in the project. They are: GENERAL OBJECTIVE: complementing participants’ (46 students from maths- computer science, intensive computer science and intensive English) theoretical knowledge on programming and web design, offered in school, with competences, practical skills and "soft skills" through internships at European standards within European companies, so as to increase their chances of entering the labor market. Specific objectives: O1 the development of participants’ practical skills regarding programming and web design; O2 organizing 46 mobilities within the EU and participants’ internships in IT companies to stimulate the formation of "soft skills" and a proper professional conduct based on respect, cooperation, tolerance, openness to colleagues, clients and employers; O3 developing multilingual skills of English Portuguese/Spanish (for daily activities and at the work place, specific IT terms); O4 using advanced technologies, skills and abilities of participants for the creation/development of websites for receiving companies and the beneficiary; O5 acquiring knowledge of the culture and traditions of European working conditions for the development of tolerance and active citizenship; O6 certification of skills acquired through: Europass Mobility and ECDL, a certificate regarding digital literacy; O7 connecting the college to the European labor market to increase the quality and attractiveness of the education provided. The project involved the organization of two selection sessions (one for flows 1 and 2 and one for flow 3), three preparation sessions (pedagogical, linguistic and cultural) before each mobility. Flows 1, 18 participants in Braga, Porugal, flow 2, 14 participants in Braga, Portugal and flow 3, 14 participants in Granada, Spain. PROJECT RESULTS: 46 beneficiaries developed professional skills of web design and programming up to an average level, through internships of 60 hours, in real working conditions, in 6 receiving companies IT from Portugal and Spain. All of them received the Europass Mobility Document. Internships contributed to the development of their soft skills so necessary at the work place, which is something we cannot develop in school. The knowledge, skills, competences and experience gained will help them both in school activities and in their integration in the labour market or to start a business. Participants created 15 websites for receiving companies/clients, a new version of the official website of the college as well as web sites for Emineta Pro Vranceanu Association and a website for Operation Pineapple project, which constitutes a great contribution to our educational work as well as to the image of our institution. The project site, www.erasmus956.blogspot.ro brings together all our project results. Project results were multiplied during 12 IT workshops for students from 3 local colleges. Participants have been taking part in activities within our ITraining Desk - web design Club, where they are "trainers" for their peers, also ensuring the sustainability of the project. The project had a positive impact on our school as it helped connect it to the European labour market by collaborating with receiving and intermediary companies, which will continue for future projects. The project helped us adapt the education we are providing to the labour market demands and it also contributed to the internationalization of the institution. The project enabled the adjustment of our educational and pedagogical approaches to the needs and the interests of the labour market of European students by offering them an optional course ’Programing and Web design’, based on its results.
