Formación para la adquisición de nuevas metodologías y herramientas que mejoren la competencia matemática en la Escuela El Pla de les Vinyes
Start date: Dec 18, 2014, End date: Dec 17, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The School El Pla de les Vinyes includes infant and primary education and it is a newly built centre which needs to enhance its methodological approach in key subjects such as maths. During the course 2013-2014 the teachers are carrying out an internal training process to reflect upon the mathematical competence. During this course the teachers have underlined the need to see other practical experiences in Europe to acquire new modern tools and teaching methods which enable them to organise their teaching process in a more innovative and child-centered approach. This is why we propose the following: 1. Participation of 4 teachers (of infant and primary education) in the "XXVIII Convegno Nazionale Incontri con la Matematica" which will be held in Bologna (Italy) from 7-9 November 2014. This Congress includes conferences and seminars on different experiences linked to maths teaching processes from an innovative approach. 2. Job shadowing process by 2 teachers of the School El Pla de les Vinyes with coordination roles in primary and infant education in the School Francesca Morvillo of Rome from 20-23 january 2015. One of them will do the job shadowing process in primary and the other one in the infant school. 3. Thanks to the training experience acquired, creation of a Mathematics Strategic Plan for the School El Pla de les Vinyes with objectives and limit dates for its execution. By means of this project the teachers will gain knowledge and experience on how to teach maths, they will acquire new skills and they will enrichen their culture in a European dimension and their linguistic skills. The School will be able to consolidate its teaching methodology and the pupils will improve their mathematical competence and skills linked to this field. The results of the project will be shared with all the educational community of the School by means of its webpage and with all the teaching community by participating in a Training seminar in collaboration with the CREAMAT (Resource Centre to Teach and Learn Maths) and, if possible, through a publication in the ARC application of resources for the Curriculum. We’ll also propose the Association of Families of the School to organise a Conference for the families to explain the project ans its results. And finally, we’ll contact the Town Hall to have further diffusion of the project.
