Formación en TIC y habilidades para una mejor Europeización de Los Olivos
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The program aimed at teacher training as a recycling tool, a way of extending our perspective of daily life and of acquiring new tools for the development of the teaching task. In this regard, it was developed a program that presented, through some courses, the acquisition of a wide range of tools that improved our abilities. Included in the European Development Plan which has been developing in the school, this KA1 program was a step further, important for the aim set. Regarding the established plan, a small change must be highlighted. When we were informed that the plan in its whole was no to be approved, but only a part of it, we were aware of the total budget, but not of an explanation, which arrived later, and we considered different possibilities about how this change affected the program. Later on, we applied for an authorisation to take at least on of the courses taking place in Ireland; all expenses not covered were assumed by the school. It is important to point out that deadlines were tight; and that the course applied for at first was cancelled due to conflicts with deadlines and not enough confirmed students. A course had to be chosen then if it was to take place in summer. Via telephone we were told in principle there was no problem, so the decision was made. The two Future Classroom Lab Brussels courses connected us with forefront education that is being managed and developed at a European level, an the only regret is not having been able to involve more teachers. But the course in Dublin was also important. It meant to expand horizons and to embed in a concrete manner some CLIL practices suitable for other subjects. It was intended to finish with very specific and deep training in particular topics (it is not possible to cover everything), in Brusels, and a wider view, even global, of how to apply ICT in classroom, in Ireland. In this way, the aim was accomplished. The courses taken were suitable for our objectives, we have worked in English with workmates from different European countries, we have achieved a global view but very specific at the same time, of the application of ICT in our jobs, and we are implementing it. In our school, European awareness and the urge to be part of education programs are more and more present, and certainly we want to continue participating in these programs, to improve and grow. Since we applied for the program, until we presented the final memory, many things have happened: one course was cancelled and we had to look for another course (Dublin), another course was put off because of the terrorist attacks (Brusels), a two-day course was lengthened for an extra day by the organization… But above all, the courses could be followed, we learnt a lot and we reckon we are usefully applying what we learnt. We intended to spread what we had learnt among our colleagues (from our school and from other schools), and for the moment, we have only achieved it by uploading the material to the school web and by offering a workshop in another school. It is possible that those suggested courses will take place. The objectives of the program have been fully achieved, and we hope we will take part in more programs of this type.
