CONTEXT OF THE PROJECTOne of the priorities of IES Padre Moret-Irubide, since it takes part in the British Council Agreement, is the promotion of teaching and learning foreign languages among teachers and students. As a consequence, the number of students has been increasing in our secondary school as well as the different subjects taught in English (CLIL approach- Content and Language Integrated Learing).Among our students many of them are immigrants or have a disadvantaged situation, with limited access to the learning of foreign languages in comparison to other students situated in other zones of our city, Pamplona. Our students living in these locations are in a clear disadvatage position.We propose seven courses in which we will learn innovative teaching methods to motivate our students to reduce school leavers and to obtain better results among our specific students with learning difficulties.To guarantee the equality of opportunities and once the needs of our school, concerning their internationalization and their teachers’ training, have been detected; IES Padre Moret-Irubide has decided to lead this School Educational Project.NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTSThe participants’ profile is mainly based on their active involvement in the ELP programme; that is to say, it deals with teachers who teach the English language or different subjects in English.DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES-Four courses about methodology: AICLE, cooperative methodology, dynamic groups and difficult learners, some of them during the summer and some others during the school period.-One course about new technologies and the use of educational games.-One course about the improvemente of the language of English teachers and the development of their professional skills. -One structured Study Visit to Schools Seminar for one teacher, during the school period.METHODOLOGY TO BE USED IN CARRYING OUT THE PROJECTThe project methodology will try to adapt the Project to the schools’ needs, and to count on the collaboration of various commissions that were created for proper operation. There will be three phases:1- Design team Project management, Project plan creation, resource orientation and preparation, approval of final Project plan and its participants.2- Execution and control, within which we have the following phases: Project execution plan, Project tracking, reporting, change control and modification of Project acceptance.3- Project closure, with the phases of Project evaluation and knowledge transfer.DESCRIPTION OF RESULTS AND THE EXPECTED IMPACT1. Improvement in English language proficiency of students due to the improvement of the oral communication faculty.2. Wider range of resources, knowledge and teaching strategies.3. Search for potential partners for KA2 School Strategic Associations.4. Transmission of European social and cultural values of teachers gained in its activities.POTENTIAL LONG TERM BENEFITS1. Improving basic skills towards improving the results of our students in external evaluations or IGCSE exams.2. Ability to find partners through mobility activities, the European School Gateway, and/or the etweening tool.
