FOR CLIL IN ACTION
Start date: Jun 1, 2016,
End date: May 31, 2017
The project CLIL in action is a small 12-month project focused on the 2 main aims. First aim is the school internationalization that suggest networking with other schools around EU and implementing certain activities in international environment. Second aim is to modernize teaching methods of school staff who is or will be teaching English. The professional development of 3 chosen teachers and one librarian who are working mainly in lower classes will be focused on CLIL teaching and learning method and improving English language. The main planned activity is 5-day training course in Netherlands that will introduce our teachers CLIL teaching and learning method and different school practices that also involve librarian work / teaching. While CLIL may be the best-fit methodology for language teaching and learning in a multilingual Europe, the literature suggests that there remains a dearth of CLIL-type materials, and a lack of teacher training programmes to prepare both language and subject teachers for CLIL teaching. We know that European citizens who are aware of their identity, begin to shape up in the school, therefore a trained teacher with international experience, inter-cultural skill is needed for creating conditions for the development of social cohesion and well being in multicultural society. Long-term benefit of the project activity is that we will later develop own solutions based on good educational practices used by European schools and improve language skills and methodology to help us in developing curriculum - CLIL, taking into account a holistic approach to teaching children from the first to the third stage of education. During the project and after the evaluation will play an important role and it will be the key when implementing CLIL method in our schools classroom and School plan in the next school year. During the project we wish to set any eTwinning collaboration and as well after the project ends. Dissemination will mainly pay attention to local and regional environment targeting teachers, parents and pupils.
