FOLIC – Development and Experimentation of an On-Line Training Model Targeted to Consultants Working in Companies in Relation to Counselling Aimed at Promoting Health and Human Resources Development

The FOLIC project aims at developing an innovative European approach with regard to workplace counselling services, to assist employees in defining their individual learning and career plans. The project will particularly focus upon employees aged over 45 years. End project results will comprise a series of reports on the professional characteristics of workplace counsellors in Europe; on the skills required for counsellors to be able to develop appropriate strategies aimed at older workers and on strategies, methodologies and techniques for use in the training of workplace counsellors. The project will further develop a web portal for use by workplace counsellors and a seroes of related guidelines and training materials. Project beneficiaries include workplace counsellors involved in guidance and human resources development; managers/owners of SMEs and vocational training bodies. The project’s dissemination strategy is divided in two phases: the first phase concentrates on informing relevant actors of project developments whilst the second phase aims at the validation of project outcomes and results. Dissemination will rely upon a regular project newsletter; the release of articles to specialist press and the organisation of workshops aimed at both counsellors and company representatives.
