Bremerhaven is an international city; not only the known harbour attracts numerous guests each year. Hence it is important for the KLA Bremerhaven to give the students the opportunity to make various contacts in European countries. Intercultural skills and knowledge of foreign languages also improve their chances on the Hanseatic job market and also on the European job market. For the project "Fremdsprachenschule goes Europe" we would like to give students of the Vocational School of Foreign languages the opportunity to develop their professional and language skills. We want to achieve this with traineeship in an European country. The Vocational School of Foreign languages is a small, but prestigious school in Bremerhaven. In the beginning, we would like to give the opportunity of a traineeship abroad to 3 students. This exchange shall be organised from two side. On the one hand students from our school do traineeships abroad, on the other side we will provide traineeships for the students of the cooperating European school.For the students of our "Economic School" and Welcome classes the most important aspect is the job orientation and personal development. We would like to organize an exchange with a school in Czech Republic. Starting point is a meeting where we will identify a common project on which we will work following school year. Reason for this project is the inadequate job orientation of those students in the Economic School but also in the Welcome classes (which refugees attend). Furtermore we also aim to enhance to skills and use of a foreign language. In a first step, students from our UNESCO-course can attend (around 25 students). When the project is successful, we would like to expand the project to other students of the Welcome classes and Economic School.To enable these projects, it is of great importance the the teachers of the KLA Bremerhaven themselves get knowledge in this field to pass on to the students. This seminar will be an important component for this. It shall be used to identify project partners, we would like to present our own project idee and get comments on it, furthermore we would like to get to know the project ideas of the other seminar participants. Not least improved competences for project management is important for this task. The participating teacher speaks English and can communicate with the other participants easily.
