Förderung der Mobilisierung von Lehrkräften zur Internationalisierung von Schulen zwecks Förderung der interkulturellen Kompetenzen und des bilingualen Unterrichts
Start date: Jul 25, 2016, End date: Jul 24, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our comprehensive school plans to improve its internationalization in the fields of teacher`s education and lessons in a pilot project that will take at least one and a half year: We set ourselves the goal to promote the intercultural competence of both teachers and pupils. Several aspects will help us to reach this goal: The implementation of bilingual science-classes at our school, the intensification of school exchanges within the European Union, the initiation of international projects via eTwinning and a new school exchange programm with partner schools abroad. At first two teachers will take further education courses with the intention to pass on new insights to the teaching staff in cooperation with our school administration and our principal. This first step will take place in Ireland where besides the acquisition of innovative skills in the fields of methodology and didactics of language teaching and the bilingual teaching of science, the connections to other participants from other countries will also be the focus of attention.Increasing and improving the position of English as a kind of a common „lingua franca“ at our school we intend on the one hand to simplify and improve the communication within our multilingual and heterogenous classes and on the other hand we believe in improving on this way the chances of our students in a common European market, being students of a school right in the center of continental Europe.Apart from that we are convinced that the new and improved teaching methods will help to enrich language and science classes in general. Furthermore the results and insights from the teacher`s education courses will be transferred into the classes of „German as a second language“. Finally, on a long-term basis we expect an improval of the international mobility of our pupils (and maybe of our teachers), an expansion of the European horizon of all participants and an increasing international cooperation of our school with partner schools from the Erasmus+ region.
