Our school, a certified European school, focuses on conveying foreign-language competency and inter-cultural skills to our students. In order to support this approach in a constructive manner, a permanent qualification of the teachers is imperative. The applied projects shall increase the methodical and didactical teaching competencies of the attendees. In addition, an innovative and motivating approach of inter-cultural competency shall be trained. One objective of language teaching is the intuitive use of foreign languages by students. Teachers, who repeatedly experienced immersion during stays in foreign countries, will improve this goal achievement. The selected teachers will attend structured training courses as well as job shadowing respectively consultations. This combination will ensure the link between theoretical contents and practical experience. Adopting inert knowledge will be avoided. With participating in these projects, teachers will positively influence their foreign-language lessons by using innovative, decentralized teaching methods and materials as well as inter-cultural perspectives and developed linguistic knowledge. For the purpose of spreading this training contents, attending teachers will report out to teacher subject committees and will publish their experiences.
