Fit für Europa
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Fit for Europe This two-year school education staff project is supposed to help make our school fit for Europe. On the one hand we want to intensify the cooperation in European projects and on the other hand we desire to encourage multilingual education by supporting bilingual teaching. Therefore we help a critical number of our science and social science teachers to activate and improve their skills in teaching their subjects in English. Furthermore we think that the knowledge about school organisation and internationalisation in this context will definitely have an influence on the development of our school. Altogether we intend to send out nine teachers and our headmaster. Three teachers (of Physics, Biology and Social Sciences) are supposed to teach their subjects at our partner school Liceo scientifico R.Nuzzi in Andria, Italy, during a period of ten days each, according to a plan developed together. Our headmaster will do a one-week job-shadowing twice (one per academic year). In return the same amount of teachers and the headmaster of our partner school will come to our school. Six teachers will take part in an in-service training course in an anglophone country to enlarge their special knowledge in English which they will then use in bilingual teaching. At the same time they are supposed to make contacts in order to have partners for new projects in the future. We hope that the experiences we are going to make will contribute to make our teaching more effective and more motivating for both students and teachers and that we will so contribute to a better understanding and to more tolerance on our way to Europe.
