Fit for European E-Training (FEET)
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

There is increasing demand for trainers of English that are able to incorporate E-learning in their work since this enables more flexible, cost-effective and individualized learning paths. The purpose of this project is to enable English at Work to meet this demand and train its teachers so that they can become fully-fledged European E-Trainers.English teachers will learn to become E-trainers through a mobility involving a training course. The mobility will run for two weeks and include twelve days of training as well as on-site visits to E-learning providers. The mobility is targeted at 20 trainers who will participate in two groups of 10 persons. Participants will learn how to use the various technologies to conduct E-learning in a highly interactive and hands-on manner. They will create their own training materials and network with E-learning professionals. To ensure sustainability and a transfer to practice, English at Work will implement a Virtual Learning Environment and incorporate E-learning in all of its programs. Upon completion of the project, the materials created in the course of its duration as well as a handbook for English teachers to become E-Trainers will be made available on-line as Open Educational Resources. The outputs of this project are of benefit to all foreign language teachers and organizations that face the challenge of transitioning from the old style of classroom education to the digital age of virtual learning.
