FINVOC - Find and Develop the Hidden Intelligence in Vocational Students

FINVOC aims to improve the skills and competencies of young vocational students in providing teachers with the tools to better understand and develop existing approaches in the definition and support of learning competencies in individual students. Many vocational students are impeded by the traditional theoretical approach that most colleges use, and whilst much practical work takes place, they cannot see the connection between theory and practice. FINVOC will investigate whether knowledge and conscious use of the seven 'multiple intelligences' (linguistic, logical mathematical, visual-spatial, body-kinaesthetic, musical rhythmic, interpersonal, intrapersonal) will improve the performance of these students. In practical terms the project will produce both an overview of multiple intelligence (in booklet form) and a model for identifying 'hidden' intelligence. To support teaching staff, a teacher-training course and didactic guide for teachers will also be produced offering awareness and suggestions for the practical teaching of 'multiple intelligences'. Methodologies and materials developed will be then piloted within vocational training institutions across the partner countries.A dedicated project website will be created to circulate the results of the project and to raise awareness of the outcomes. Beyond the initial piloting, reports and materials will also be added to the site in all partner languages (DA, DE, EL, ES, EN, FI, SV & LV).
