Financial Institutions Personnel Training in the Concepts of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technologies for the Evaluation of Relevant Projects

The project's primary objective is the development of a framework of structured courses and necessary supporting material, for training personnel in financial institutions to be able to technically evaluate applications from renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) technologies which are seeking financial support. The project will improve the training and knowledge of financial institution employees whilst potentially enhancing the prospects for RE and EE companies to gain funding. All project partners will analyse and forecast the training needs of financial institution employees, specifically in relation to financial applications by RE and EE technology companies. Personnel training courses will be developed in response to these identified needs and piloted in the project partner countries. Courses will be delivered using lectures, student handouts and PowerPoint presentations and will focus on technical issues and financing implications that are specific to different RE and EE sectors (e.g. wind, hydro energy etc.). A comprehensive Guide on financing of RE and EE technologies will be developed in all partner languages, based upon the pilot outcomes and will be made available either as a hard copy or on CD-Rom. The project will promote dialogue about experience and needs between different financial institutions and RE and EE companies. Dissemination will be variously targeted at the financial/banking sector, in addition to economic chambers, VET schools and RE & EE companies. A brief informative/educational pamphlet, detailing the project's results will be widely distributed.
