Fifth European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF 2010)
Start date: Oct 1, 2009,

The European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF or QAF) is a European conference on quality assurance in higher education that brings annually together the main stakeholders in the field - universities and other higher education institutions (HEIs), quality assurance agencies (QAAs) and students. It provides a unique platform to the higher education and QA communities to follow, to discuss, to design and to anticipate the development and the current issues in the area. Since the Fora started in 2006, an increasing trend could be observed: HEIs, researchers, QAA representatives and student representatives more and more take the Forum as an opportunity for presenting new ideas, raising discussions and collecting feedbacks on their practices. In the long run, this bottom-up approach fosters a dialogue on QA that briges national boundaries and leads to a truly European discussion. Furthermore, it will create a common European understanding of QA through direct communication among different stakeholders and across geographical backgrounds.During the two-and-a-half days of conference, the exchanges will be conducted through a mix of plenary sessions and small workshops and discussion groups. Contributions will be sought through an open call for papers from all takeholders involved - ensuring the diversity and complementarity of topics and approaches. The Forum can now also build its visibility, its credibility and its capacity to draw a large participation on the success of the four previous Forums. The results of the Forum will be publicised in a publication that collects the best keynote speeches and paper contributions. The dissemination of the output will be assured by all partners of the projects; as key stakeholders in the field of QA in higher education, they will broadly disseminate the results to their members and refer to them in all appropriate events related to quality in higher education.
