The project "Feeling the GAP" has in its main aim to enable young participants to initiate a process of reflection with respect to the concept of 'Diversity' "and" Other". The ambitious focus towards which it is directed is to promote among the participants, a shared participation in which any of them may become at the same time, aware of itself (and its diversity / characteristic) and the other (with their specific characteristics). "Diversity" and the concept of the "Other" is, in this context, understood in a cultural sense, and in the sense of the specific skills that each of us possesses, even if they are not always easily recognized by the social context in which we live. According to this, the project aims is to deepen stereotypes and prejudices, distorted visions not only cultural based but also regarding the subjects defined with disabilities. Those people often find themselves living in a relational context not always facilitative, or at least still unable to grasp in there, the richness and potential of their personal experience. The project, which will be held in Trento from 29 May to 7th June, 2015. Will engage in reflection on these issues, two groups of children aged between 13 and 30 years, one from Italy and one from Spain. Promoted by AGSAT, an Association of parents of children with Autistic Syndrome of Trento and with the participation of the Association "O Pelouro Axeito" of Galicia, the project wants to initiate and to stimulate further reflections that concern the approach to education in general and, more specifically, socio-rehabilitative approach, relative to individuals with special needs. During the 10 days of the exchange, the youngs will experience methods of non-formal education, will participate in different expressive laboratories and experience also the nature, works on these issues. They will get in contact also with the others reality of Trentino region that has already started this type of reflection. That experience will be surely an opportunity to think and rethink new ways to concerned diversity and disability, more in line with a humanized vision of personal life experience.
