FEELing – Formation d’Educateurs à l’Environnement Littoral INGénierie

FEELing is a pilot project aiming at realizing a transnational standard of vocational training for a specific profile of educators, interested in the littoral environments. The project is the evolution of previous experiences in the field, realised in 2002 in South France. The new general aims are 1) a common and shared body of best practices in training, in the field of littoral environment education; 2) a common and shared body of advanced professional competences; 3) a European network concerned with the competences and roles of the new profile; 4) new practices concerning lasting effects in education. One of the main original issues of the project is the widened target group of educators who ought to be concerned with the training and updating courses on future eco-citizenship, with a specific model of accreditation: coordinators, animators, teachers, trainers, tourists guides will be able to produce different kinds of educational proposals and contents for young people and adults. The partners concentrate on a pedagogical approach that fosters and produces important results and outcomes also in the field of informal education, then widening the scope of an active education to eco-citizenship. The project partners give a strong contribution to the promotion of the European objective of transparency in qualifications by capitalising and valorising different basic know how and eco-competences, validating and producing authentication and certification criteria and procedures, disseminating and exploiting basic concepts as well as complex and expert practices.
